Women Are Solid Automotive Buyers

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Many women feel uncomfortable when going to car auctions because of the way they are regarded by other participants and even by the sellers. Some seller still live in medieval times, and think that women will never buy a car, not only because they don’t have the money, but also because they don’t need it. Women who still buy from car auctions escape all these nasty looks by bringing a male acquaintance along and asking him to place bids for them, on cars they want to buy.

Women that totally dislike the slick and newly found Don Juan types give up on going to live auctions and resume to online auctions. In online auctions, it makes no difference if you are a man, a woman or a very intelligent any thing else. The other buyers can not see you, you are safely at home behind the computer screen and can bid freely.

Those who say women don’t know what they want are very wrong. If they are interested in used crossfires, then they will not be moved by other great deals. Maybe this is one of the reasons they are regarded as naïve in live car auctions, because they will only be bidding on one car, the one they had in mind from the beginning, and maybe sometimes even overpay for it. But they are aware of what they are doing, only that they really want it and don’t intend to go home without it. Salesmen try to rush women away from auctions. Bidders get awfully annoying when a woman is bidding against them. That’s why most women resume to online auctions. Woman buyers are not as easily persuaded by a low price as men. If a woman want a family car, then that’s what she will get even if it’s the season when family cars are overpriced. They are very resourceful searchers, especially on the internet. Women do find the things they look for eventually, and can even obtain good prices online. If, by change, women are car auction sellers, then they are actually advantaged because other sellers will want nothing to do with them, witch is good, and buyer will often ask for car details, witch is also good.

Are Used Honda Parts Ok or DOA?

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Due to the ever increasing prices of most all commodities, the selling of used Honda parts and other used car parts has now become widespread because the savings are tremendous and the quality remains high.

You have to be careful though or you could get taken. And that’s why one of the best places for buying used parts is the Internet…when you know what to look for and the sites to trust.

The junk yard can serve you because they offer a wide variety of used vehicle parts but the quality and guarantees are spotty at best.

Getting used Honda parts has always been a process treated with skepticism. People misconstrue and believe recycled auto parts are unreliable and that they may konk out after only a few days or worse be dead on arrival.

But lately, businesses are changing their policies and increasing the quality and testing which provides assurances to you before buying. The parts undergo thorough testing, which proves their quality and helps you rest more comfortably. These Honda parts are molded again in their new shape which makes it very difficult to identify the old ones from the new ones.

Now, the Internet has become the latest resource for buying all types of products including used Honda parts and other types of used car parts. So, for getting cheap and high-quality used auto parts, the Internet has come of age and is more than a handy option because the quality remains and you get the product shipped right to your door.

So, now it becomes important to select the right site for buying and getting the parts at affordable rates.

You hot buttons on whether to buy or not to buy might be:

1. Easy Buying Procedure: In today’s world every human being faces the problem of lack of time so you want it to be dead simple and fast.

2. Wide variety of Products to cover the majority of your potential customers.

3. Comfortable and Safe: You are familiar with the location and know you can receive quality mechanise for the amount you are willing to spend. And look for an iron-clad guarantee so your site visitors have no hesitation entering their credit card information and hitting the buy button.

Purchasing used car parts in working condition is much better than spending all the money for a new Honda car or even new Honda parts at retail prices.

You cost include shipping , transportation and other overhead costs that are tacked on by retailers.

This is where recycled parts purchased through reputed online sites are reliable and also maintenance free. And you can get more life out of the car you have already depreciated rather than throwing away good money on new cars and new parts.

The online Internet has opened the market for getting quality deals now more so than ever in the past. This includes both foreign and domestic.

Even with the struggles Honda is having and the car dealers are having the maintenance and parts businesses are thriving. It’s one of the bright spots for auto dealerships.

Of course, savings is the major advantage of buying used Honda parts. New parts have much higher markups and profit margins than old. So do you want to pay for a retailers overhead?

Because online sellers operate with very low overhead, prices can be kept low and affordable for various auto parts including engines, alternators, and transmissions.

There is a big market worldwide for used auto parts.

I highly recommend purchasing used transmissions and engines because they’re reliable. Also used side panels and bumpers are other big ticket items you can save on without loss of function or looks.

Since online barriers to entry within the used auto parts business is low, many services have popped up opening a lot more choices for consumers. As well there’s lots of information you can research to guide you in making the right decision. The only thing left for you to do is read all required notices and terms and then make your choice.

How to Buy Luxury Cars Cheap

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

If you tell me you’ve never dreamt of a car that has much to say when seen, then you are lying. Don’t think only of new line cars that are a true work of art as they come. The cars I’m talking about are those personalized cars that are unrecognizable after the makeover. These are the cars you see on Discovery or MTV, in car shows, cars that have huge engines or extraordinary paint art. This type of cars is often sold in car auctions. Of course, the prices are in perfect accordance with the manufacturer’s reputation and name. But these auctions also attract car producers that are no as famous. There are many car workshops all over the world, which survive by making each car they work on a true work of art. Car that get personalized by small workshops and are not made for a specific purpose or customer will also be sold in car auctions.

Luxurious car auctions are usually held for the purpose of attracting rich customers who won’t be watching a car’s real value, but it’s performance and looks. Because the internet is an inequitable resource of information, by searching over it you can find where the next customized car auction will be held. If such a car auction is held near your home town, you should go take a look even if you think you won’t be able to place any bids. The chances are that sellers witch produce luxury cars but are not famous in the field will also try to enter the event. These cars will not be bided on by rich buyers, because they only want to see and buy famous workshop productions, regardless of the price. You will also find Chrysler imperial for sale in these auctions, and many more luxury cars that have not been customized, and if you orientate towards them you have many chances of buying a great car very cheap

You never know when you place the lucky bid and buy a re-made and fully working luxury car for as low as $1000. You might even end up going home with a car fit for a rock star, just because you decided to spend $1000 in a car auction.

Car Maintenance - The Common Misconceptions That Cost You Money

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Millions of people are fooled into believing the myths by savvy marketing and untrustworthy mechanics. For example, the idea that your vehicle must have regular oil changes every 3,000 miles is an absolute falsehood. Similarly, your technician’s advice to have your radiator flushed once a year is more for his bottom line than for preserving your cooling system. Despite this, a lot of drivers spend unnecessary time and money following such advice.

Today, I’m going to describe 2 more common fallacies about car maintenance. These are myths that are perpetuated not only by your local mechanic, but by your dealership’s service technicians. Learn them and save your money.

#1 - Frequent Tune-Ups

Unless you’re driving a vehicle that was built when disco was still the rage, your car’s engine probably doesn’t need a tune-up. The service was performed in order to adjust the engine and moving car parts during a time when carburetors were installed in every model. Today, the only car parts that need “tuning up” are the spark plugs. And those just need to be replaced every 50,000 miles. Everything else - the ignition, fuel injection, and idling of the car engine - is controlled by computers.

Unfortunately, dealerships continue to tell their customers that they need to bring their vehicles in for a tune-up after 60,000 miles. That’s not surprising. The bottom line is, it increases their profits.

#2 - New Air Filters

Think back to the last time you took your vehicle in for an oil change. Did the mechanic suggest a new air filter? Did he subtly imply that your car might sustain damage if you neglected to replace it? This is a common mistake. First, the air filter catches debris before it can enter the engine. Over time, the filter can accumulate so much dust and dirt that very little air can flow through. At that point, it’s a good idea to replace it. But, it takes a long time for the air filter to reach that stage.

Of course, that doesn’t stop auto technicians from recommending the replacement every time you visit. From their perspective, you come to their shop ready to spend $20 on an oil change and end up spending $40. It takes money out of your pocket and puts it in theirs?

Auto Maintenance Education Saves Money

Your vehicle requires ongoing preventative maintenance. That’s what helps ensure that it will last. But, it’s too easy to waste valuable time and money following bad advice from mechanics and dealership technicians. Remember, their goal is to increase their sales; many of them are willing to do it at your expense.

Chances are, your vehicle doesn’t need regular tune-ups. Neither are you required to replace the air filters that the mechanic will mention every time. As always, follow your owners manual. It’s the best way to keep your car in great condition.

Pros & Cons - Speed Camera Detector

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Speed Camera Detector

For those of us living in the UK, driving has become risky to our pockets.A slight increase in speed whilst in the view of a speed camera, then you’re bound to get fined - and even lose your license.  You can run up a small fortune just by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, several times!  That’s why considering getting a detection device is so important for you.

What, exactly, are these? These are the devices that are deployed roadside to determine your speed.  These cameras are used to discourage speeders and also - as a side benefit - to gain revenue from those who are caught speeding in the form of tickets!  It is a clever system, but one that can be beaten by getting a camera detector!

There are a plethors of devices available in the UK.  Currently, there are three types of detectors in use in the UK.A popular type is a system that pings messages to the sending devices, and are radar and laser based.  The returning signal tells the camera just how fast the vehicle is moving.Humps can also be used to determine the speed of vehicles.Ironically enough, if another person drives over the bumps fast, well the camera will probably turn on them. The only other method is one that uses photos to determine the vehicles speed. The cameras take 2 pictures, and calculate the difference and time inbetween to work out your speed. The vehicle speed is determined by the time stamps on the photographs.

So, how can you beat all of those possibilities? There are a multitude of different devices available from every retailer to give you the edge. They’ll inform you of a forthcoming camera, so you have the chance to slow down.If you’re a speedster, then this will help! These devices help you avoid fines, and will hopefully save your license.

If you invest in a good speed camera detector, they will be able to detect radar and laser bursts, and warn you accordingly.Competitor products have a database of national cameras, and will advise you of their status - giving you the time needed to slow down.  Added benefits are units that can detect all types of speed camera traps and even mobile traps set up by the police in varied locations.

Bare in mind that these devices warn you of speed traps and cameras, and also your speed limit.  This makes it easy to classify any detection device as a driving aid, rather than a device used to avoid speeding traps.

If people with camera detectors are less involved with accidents, then there is no real reason to make them illegal unless the real concern is the loss in revenue! Is there really a problem with giving drivers control over the aids they use?

The price of these units vary, but many of the newer systems require a yearly subscription in order to continue to upload and update the latest speeding trap database to your unit.  But if you are a frequent speeder, this may be more than worth while.Always review the products available on the market, as new products are hitting the shelves frequently.

This all sounds well and good, but you may be wondering whether or not these detection devices are legal.  You’ll be happy to know that in the UK,  detectors are perfectly legal and can be widely used without penalty.  There are, however, efforts being made with such bills as the Road Safety Bill to make it illegal to use speed camera jammers and detectors.

The question really has to be what the motive is behind speeding traps and cameras - is it to generate revenue, or to help public safety. In reality - its a bit of both.  If you consider the idea that they encourage speed camera detectors which in turn make motorists aware of their driving habits, then they do, in fact, increase safety on Britain’s highways.

The benefit of a verbal warning from the speed camera detector is that it enables you to keep a visual focus on the driving environment, thus enhancing safety. If we can enable drivers to only focus on the road, then surely this is a benefit!  And with technologies crossing over, it wont be long until speed camera detectors are incorporated into GPS navigation systems, phone systems and the stereo systems of new cars.Without a doubt, the computer within the car will end up doing everything, GPS, Health and Camera Detection!

You may think or believe that you are the safest driver out there - however, there is always the unknown element which is the reason you should have the said devide for safety. Just by knowing where the cameras are and the associated speed limits will save you money, and proabably increase your safety!

Speeding Fines - Avoidance is not illegal

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Speeding Fines.

Everybody wants to avoid them. Its all too easy to start speeding without realising, and the only time you’ll notice is when you get the fine. The roads today are littered with speed cameras, speed traps and traffic police - so its easy to get points, receive speeding fines and even lose your license - all in a single day. One of the best things you can do to avoid speeding fines is actually to understand the reasons that you speed in the first place. When you stand back, there are some common and very simple reasons that people speed. Just work out what they are are, and then you can start working towards a resolution to avoid the speeding fine. So, here’s a look at some of the most common reasons you speed and how you can fix this to avoid getting fined for speeding in the future.

Reason #1 - You Don’t Notice the Speed Changed - One of the main reasons that people end up speeding, which often results in speeding fines, is because they don’t even realize that the speed limit has changed. On many of the roads across the UK, you’ll find that the speed does change from time to time. Since the speed limit can change several times on that one road, it’s pretty easy to keep driving along even after the speed has been lowered. In the blink of an eye you will be pulled over by the police, and you’ll have a ticket for speeding and you probably wont even realise why. There are many people that end up paying fines because they didn’t notice a speed change.

The Resolution:
Even if you have a tendency to not realize when the speed changes, there are some things you can do to fix this to try to avoid getting speeding fines. Never get complacent, always look out for road signs. The only thing you should be focussing on is the speed limits and the vehicles around you - pretty much everything else is irrelevant. If you notice they slow down, it could be because the speed has changed and is a bit lower.

Reason #2 - You need to concentrate on Drivining - Again, high in the list are people’s careless attitiude to concentrating whilst driving. Unfortunately, the quality and comfort of cars today make it all to simple to travel from a to b, without having to pay that much attention to actually driving. Keep focussed, and switch off distractions where you can, including the radio and even talking in some cases. If you are distracted, it’s easy to start going a bit faster, and soon you are speeding and you end up getting caught by a camera going far too fast.

How to Fix It:
Do you want to remedy this situation? Remember, concentration is a key aspect when driving, even after you pass your test - if not more so. Try to avoid things that take your mind off what you are doing. Focus on your speed. Look down every few minutes to check how fast you are going. This will probably save you from just speeding off, and incurring the all hated speed fine.

Reason #3 - Aggression on the Road - Aggression out there on the road can end up being a reason that people speed today as well. When you are feeling angry, it’s easy to go faster because you are upset. Dont get hot and mad, and antagonised because if you do your driving will become reckless. If you arent’ focussed on the driving, and are wound up - or in a unsafe state of mind to drive, you’ll probably end up speeding without realising, and before you know it you’ll have broken a speed limit somewhere.

The Answer:
If you haven’t got a cool state of mind, and are angry or otherwise, just dont drive. After all, getting a speeding fine is not going to make things better for you. It’s important to avoid getting aggressive while driving as well. This may not only result in a speeding ticket, but driving aggressively could get you in bigger trouble, or even in a bad vehicle crash.

Reason #4 - Running Late - When people think they are going to be late… this is when they start to speed. They end up speeding just to make it a few moments earlier, when in fact in trying to drop the kids off or make it to work, they have endanged the lives of others, and incurred a speeding fine - is it really worth it. In a split second you’ll have incurred a speeding fines, and you wont even know its happened.

The Answer:
Its all to sad in hindsight to realise that the reason people get speeding fines was due to something so simple. More haste, less speed - seriously, its easy to speed when you think you’re going to be later. The only way to avoid being late, and justifying it by speeding, is to leave early. If you are running behind, call ahead to let someone know. It’s better than ending up with a huge fine or being involved in an accident because you were late.

Reason #5 - The Road Seems Deserted - Last of all, another of the common reasons people speed is because the road they are driving on seems to be deserted. They think no one is around, it seems safe, and they speed up a bit. Even at night its not safe to speed, the road may be clear but the speed traps dont. Just when you think it’s okay to go a bit faster, you may end up with a speeding fine.

How to Fix It:
If the road is quiet, this doesn’t give you permission to speed. You don’t know what you are going to meet up the road. If you really want to avoid speeding fines, then simply just follow the speed limits.

The Car, the SpeedCamera and the Detector

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

All about Speed Cameras.

UK speed camera laws are often confusing and they allow for quite a bit of concern to those who may be living in a region with these cameras. First, what are they? Throughout portions of the UK, city council or other governmental organisations have set up cameras to monitor specific areas.

These cameras are designed to pick up on any and all motorists using the streets. The goal is simple. If you go through this area, note that it is monitored by camera. If the individual is speeding the cameras will simply register the license plate automatically, and all the information needed to send a fine is ready.

Premise Good But Often Questioned

UK speed camera design makes quite a bit of sense. Its hard to contest a fine if you do indeed break the law, in most circumstances. There are multiple benefits for installing cameras. For example, the cameras may keep motorists from speeding up, and rather to have them slowing down through the busy intersections throughout the area. More so, the cameras are able to decrease risks to other motorists or pedestrians since people are less likely to speed through the area where the cameras are located and therefore, individuals are less likely to be involved in an accident.

There are various reports on both sides of the issue here stating that the cameras did work or even that they do not work to accomplish improved safety. It goes without saying that individuals must make their own conclusion about the good and the bad about the UK speed camera for themselves. Some individuals believe that the laws of the land should prevent these cameras from being used as well. The reasoning is quite simple. Unless the governmental organisation can show proof of the incident, they should not be able to fine an individual.

Writing Letters On Your Behalf

Because of all of the issues with UK speed camera law, or confusion about how legal these laws are, many people have determined that they should fight them. Simply write to the fine issuing authority. The letters, when well written and organised, are designed to make a simple request: proof.

The first letter, in what can consist of many letters, should be sent back to the authorities after a fine is received. As soon as you receive the noticem this should be sent off striaght away. To avoid a confrontation or argument, then this is the reason for writing the letter. The claimant wants the individual to have to argue their case before the magistrate. To avoid this circumstance occuring, the first letter is a conditional agreement that accepts the offence was committed. What is important here is the condition of acceptance. You are offering acceptance of the fine, if they can meet your conditions, and subsequently you will pay the fine if the condition is met. The condition is proof of the claim or verification of the incident occurring. It is the right under the law to ask for such a claim. It is not unreasonable to expect the legal system to provide that notice, and the outcome here can be taken into consideration. Always send the letter by registered mail, so that the letter has to be signed for - this may be needed by you as evidence on what you have done.

The outcome of these letters is very dependent on the organisation. It is not unknown for the Police to make contact with you after the incident. It is essential to be courteous if you receive a phone call. In doing so, the individual asks for the question from the police to be sent in the mail, in writing. Never get into a verbal dialogue about the circumstances.

The indivudal is entitiled to write and request additional information regarding the allegations of the offence. These written letters are used to validate and understand any miscommunication that may have occured. The individual is simple being polite and courteous whilst asking for proof of the incidents occurrence.

If this is a first offense, or the tenth, the individual has the legal right to be shown proof of their actions.

What Is The Benefit?

So what is the benefit of writing and posting such letters? As the claimant, you have the right to demand proof of your actions or infringement of the laws. The old adage, innocent until proven guilty, is true - and you can request evidence to proof the alegation. The real reason behind the letter writing is to avoid the court case. There is no guarantee that they will work to get an individual out of the fine they have been given, but it may help to keep the individual out of court.

Even if the letters sent to court are not enough to keep the individual out of court, when they do arrive at court, they can demonstrate to the magistrate their requests, all unheeded, for proof of the infringement. The individual will have copies of the letters that will advise, very clearly and proffesionally, the need for the information.

Summing Up

UK speed camera laws are often misunderstood or even not clearly defined. For reasons of this nature, you find that people take the opportunity to protect and fight them. For those who do not believe they are aiding in reducing safety or those who are unwilling to be monitored, these letters are one step towards fighting the accusations made against them. It goes without saying that individuals should abide by the laws throughout this process.

Saturn Sky is a Slight Bummer

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

The SKY is admired for its sleek and sexy design, but falters when it comes to performance and everyday practicality. The Saturn Sky is a two-seat convertible combining power, a host of amenities and a stylish appearance for an affordable price.

Widely praised for its head-turning design, the 2009 SKY makes a fun drop-top cruiser, but falls below its competitors in terms of performance. Whenever you drop the top, then you better purchase a Saturn Sky windscreen / windblocker, wind deflector, (or one for it’s cousin, the Pontiac Solstice windscreen / windblocker, wind deflector). With its overakk lack of room, both in the trunk and interior, this is hardly practical as an every runner. If you’re considering the SKY, then you need to also take the Pontiac Solstice for a spin. The both the Solstice and Sky are built on the same platform, with the Sky, you can get a coupe with a removable hard targa top. Not to be overlooked, the MX-5 Miata will also do you well, and is a great value of a car.

Just for you, the Saturn Sky comes available in two different trim packages, the Base and the Red Line. The base model is powered by a 173-hp 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine and the Red Line has under the hood a 260-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Both engines are joined to a five speed manual transmission, or an automatic five speed. With the plain-jane Base package, you get: electronic traction and stability control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, 18-inch alloy wheels, satellite radio, cruise control, a security system, and power mirrors, windows and door locks with remote keyless entry. If you spend the extra bucks for the Red Line package, then you get: dual-exhaust tips, sport-tuned suspension, leather shift knob and steering wheel audio controls. In the end, one of the must-have accessories is the Saturn Sky windscreen / windblocker, wind deflector.

If you’re going the sports car route, then the Sky is certainly worth a look, and its value will please you. “The 2009 Saturn Sky is, first and foremost, a good-looking car,” writes Edmonds. You drive this car, and people in parking lots will come up to you and start conversations. For the majority of potential owners, that alone is worth the price of admission.”
